I decided to reserve it anyways. They all get forwarded to my gmail account, but I'll probably switch over to using this as my main email account.

I've had the emails about it but so far haven't changed over from my Hotmail addy. I'll have to go and have a look to see if my name is still available.

    Hi there
Now gmail integrates nicely with Outlook 2007 / 2010 and even outlook 2013 I've abandoned Hotmail. I might have certain reservations about google for various reasons - but the gmail system works just fine and also syncs nicely with smartphones too.

    Cheers

Isn't gmail just about to turn off Activesync?

I think you may be right. My understanding was that it still works on Windows devices which already have it, but you now can't enable it on a device if it isn't already there.
