Microsoft pushing Surface RT update...

...to tackle WiFi and performance issues.

If you've had any sustained glitches with your Surface RT, check for a software update -- Microsoft might just have sorted it out. A February refresh pushing out today should mend problems with WiFi reliability that have led to the tablet showing "Limited" access. It also eliminates sluggishness in the power and volume controls, as well as Windows as a whole.

I wish Apple was as quick to fix its WiFi problems, after numerous updates its getting slightly better, but the little Mini still has trouble finding and holding a signal and that's with 2 iPads side by side. One stays logged on the other drops out.

Actually I think I've just found out why Apple is so slow and useless in bringing out decent updates. Apparently they've got the whole team working on an IWatch, it's all over the World headlines. The WSJ, The New York Times, Bloomberg, Cnet and the Verge, I wonder why Apple does so well.

Microsoft has released fixes and patches for a total of 57 known issues today. The updates will fix critical security holes and fix more than 12 vulnerabilities. The major fix is for Windows RT and Surface RT users who are experiencing issues with the App Store Downloading functionality.

Another fix is for the Wi-Fi connectivity and reliability of Surface

I guess four months is pretty fast.

Considering Apple still hasn't completely fixed theirs, I'd say its no too bad. As far as software goes I'd bet MS against Apple any day of the week.

Here's another huge problem.

.If you hadn't heard, some enterprises had to ban the latest major update from Apple after the newly updated iPhones and iPads were "causing excessive logging" on the server. Once the iOS 6.1-powered device that was connected to the Exchange Server was switched off, the problem ceased.

Despite Apple this week releasing a minor update to the software—iOS 6.1.1 for iPhone 4S users—after U.K. and European cell networks warned customers to avoid the update after suffering infrastructure conflicts with the software, the Exchange overlogging problem persists, the bug remains in place.

And just a bit more.

. Microsoft has, this time, come to the rescue.

In a new knowledge-base article, the software giant notes that some customers may experience "rapid growth in transaction logs, CPU use, and memory consumption in Exchange Server 2010 when a user syncs a mailbox by using an iOS 6.1-based device."

When did this become a surrogate Apple forum, where every time something is mentioned about Windows 8, someone immediately pipes up with 'Look at Apple, look at Apple!'?

When did this Windows Forum become become a, Look for all things negative about Windows 8 and Surface Forum. Maybe I'm wrong but I though that if you're going to rubbish a company maybe you should look at the alternatives to see how they're doing things..

In other words if you're going to call someone fat, you have to have some kind of reference. Same if you call someone slow, you have to compare them to someone else.

I suppose I could see what Google is up to.

The moment when one tries to justify one's product's failings by pointing out failings in someone else's products, is the day you lose the argument and all credibility.

It's like Ford trying to justify the Capri by saying a Trabant is worse.

So if I win a race in the Olympics and someone says I was slow, I'm not allowed to say, but I beat everyone else who were even slower. Not to sure about that one Ray.

This is actually the 3rd firmware update, the first was for performance which made a big difference and the next two were for wireless. I never experienced Wi-Fi issue with my Surface RT nor did many others, others who had Wi-Fi issues had it fixed on the last firmware update. As an owner of a Surface RT I think Microsoft has been supporting it well with updates.

Could someone else explain the failure of this argument? I'm not sure that I have the ability to explain why this is not comparable to what I stated.

Yeah I know it's not exact but it will suffice, anyway look at Robr's comment, that confirms what I've been saying.
