Daily builds of Ubuntu 13.04 – due for release in April 2013 – have today gone live for download.

With Ubuntu 13.04 dropping alpha releases, the daily builds will be will be the only way to get the release before the first beta lands in mid-March.

Ubuntu cant even develop stable builds after few years of updates for lts releases, so these daily alpha releases, that crashes every few seconds, is worthless, not to mention, that ubuntu became very bad distro.

    Thanks for mentioning.

Those are still experimentals, not gonna put those on any host. I'll give it a go first in a VM.

I'll run the live version on my host and see how the sound goes.

Zorin looks better but has no uefi... I'll see how Fedora 18 goes since I already got the iso.

    Hi there
I posted a similar remark in W7 Forums to the Identical post

What has this to do with W8

Would be better posted in THIS forum

What has this to do with Win8 ?
Not much... one of the laptops has Win8 preinstalled and this thread is for dual-boots.

But since the thread exists here I just posted something. It's a problem that's not been solved since ages.
If you have IDT audio chipset: be warned Linux support is quasi nonexistent.
Thanks for the link. One day, if I don't have some better stuff to do, I'll search for a solution.
Too bad it's not working out of the box as it should.

I don't want to browse Linux forums for IDT Audio issues since you spend hours in a terminal without even finding a decent solution to this (I know because I've already did that). There are different solutions, tweaks that work for a user and not for another.

The IDT chipset is one that HP uses in Windows certified computers (I got two of those) and it's not so well supported in Linux.

I tested the 13.04 and it's the same as before. Crackling sound at reboot/shutdown... no distinction between headphones and speakers. I quit.
EDIT: a possible fix is available, for when I get into this again.

    It's a bug or two...

    Conclusion:
IDT or HP don't have Linux support. Or the tdiver development is slow in one of the branches.
I'll continue to use IDT for the good Windows support.

There's no need I continue on this issue, we now all know the story.
Since Windows is fully supported, the Linuxes remain in VM's here.

    Cheers

The Linux threads probably should be in the Chillout Forum...not the Windows 8 news forum.

Great day all! I've been running the official Enterprise build of 8 for a few days now, but it seems some things are glitching on me that didn't in the RP and a glitch is occurring that has been occurring since the CP. For starters, in metro IE 10, there's sometimes a text lag where I type...
