    Looks like Microsoft is not Quite dead


    Looks like Microsoft isnt done just yet, its still kicking according to the latest results.

    You hit on all the reasons I do not own any of the fruit company items. But you missed one locked in hardware.
    Locked in hardware and locked in software, that's why I want Microsoft to succeed, I build my own computers, although even that might go by the wayside the way things are going.

    I have installed a copy of Mint on an old laptop just to do that BUT the way M$ is going with secure boot that may not be a way either.

    That is a potential problem.

    At least until the "hackers" release their methods for disabling it.

    Linux Mint is quite nice.
    All of my devices (monitor, USB TV dongle, On-board sound & network) worked straight "out of the box".
