    Windows 8 upgrade prices

Wow, $200 for the upgrade to Windows 8 pro. Prices were confirmed...I'm still somewhat skeptical that they won't keep the low priced upgrades around since sales haven't been crazy high...considering the low cost.

The upgrade to regular Windows 8 will be $119. And upgrades to pro from 8 standard will be $99. Which now that I think about it is the price HP just charged me to upgrade a machine. Hmmmm......

Sorry Mr. parkks1, albeit already posted in the "Discussion Section." I posted it about two to three hours ago, and the mods moved it there in about thirty seconds. You been lucky so far; probably went home or out to dinner. . . .

$119 seems pretty much in line with what Windows 7 cost, but I'm glad I upgraded when I did. Since (IMO) most people from this point on will be getting Win8 as the installed OS on a new PC purchase, I don't think the cost will have much impact on sales. Still, it will be interesting to watch.

I'm unsure why everytime I click on search and search for things like "upgrade price" that I turn up nothing. Then I post, and I'm notified that it already exists.

I think anyone that wouldn't take advantage of this best offer Microsoft has ever launched is plain crazy. You don't have to do alot to get the promo to register. I think it's just a matter of people being too lazy to move some files off their Windows Vista/XP/7 machines. I've been having everyone I know get the 14.99 and just hold the key and install OS on USB Flash Drives for later.

Definitely don't want to miss the boat on such a great deal! I've bought 2 copies for what would be less then one regular download @ 39.99 ERP + you get the free product key (Windows Media Center Pack) 9.99 ERP for now FREE before end of this month!!

I mean, you'd have to be crazy not to?

Well, I haven't taken advantage. I'm not of the opinion that 8 does anything so much better than 7 to deal with the new UI changes that I don't like. So, why spend $40 for my desktop to replace 7 and $40 to replace my wife's Vista, and another $40 for my file server box happily running 7, and another $40 for my old desktop that my kids use every note and again to play old games on XP. That's $160 for something that I don't really even want.
