Microsoft switches to Black Screen of Death (BSoD) in Windows 8

Microsoft has switched to the color black for it’s system stop error messages in Windows 8.

The software giant’s notorious Blue Screen bug check or error screen is now black inside the latest Windows 8 builds. Microsoft has used the Blue Screen of Death since early copies of Windows 1.0. The first Windows error screen composed of code page 437 symbols against a blue background. The first proper Blue Screen was present in Windows 3.x. Microsoft started using a Red Screen of Death inside early Windows Vista builds. The company also used Red Screens inside early beta copies of Windows 98.

New BSOD?

IMHO, the Black Screen of Death looks better than the blue version. Looks plain and simple. . .

IT's probably only temporary, they might have some bug or glitch that's stopping them implementing the blue BSOD's. If it is permanent, I don't see the point, why even bother.

Still blue for the only leaked version so far (7850). I get a BSOD when shutting down, if I select Shut down. I'm not so bothered about this, as this build is only an early Alpha one, so bugs and errors are likely to be present. This is the only one I've found though, as it seems quite stable albeit that some features are not fully operational and/or locked down.

I don't think they they change the way BSODs are debugged, it may only be a graphical change

I suppose it really doesn't matter what colour your screen goes once it gives you the information and your machine turns back on, so they can make it purple with pink spots, once it does the biz.

My Computer

I actually prefer the black, more modern looking, and the bsod stays the same. But maybe they could color code them like homeland security for how screwed you are:D

Now that is the most intelligent suggestion I have heard in a long time :ROFLMAO:, Probably a little too intelligent for Microsoft to comprehend.
