Microsoft says Google trying to undermine Windows Phone

    Who knew.....

Microsoft has admitted that Windows Phone 8 doesn't work as well with some of the internet's most popular properties as do other smartphone platforms, but it has pinned the blame on a surprising culprit: apparently, it's all Google's fault.

Well on the one hand Google IS highly evil and they will get smacked around a lot because of this kind of behavior.

    On the other hand
    1) Lack of a good you tube experience on WinPhone8 is one of about 500 reasons it is not doing well.
    2) I just gotta say, "Karma is a bitch isn't it MS"? They have been stonewalling competitors WRT MS networking interoperability for two decades!
Microsoft is completely losing it's sanity...

See, that was almost TWO DECADES ago when Microsoft was being accused of anti-trust violations. Two decades ago Microsoft and Microsoft of 2013 are two different things.

I also would like to see the 500 different reasons why Windows Phone is so poor...

I don't see the big fuss as Windows Phone has MetroTube, BY FAR THE best metro designed app for Windows Phone and the best YouTube app on any platform.

But google making it impossible to allow the API usage for a YouTube app on a platform that isn't anywhere near close to google's mobile platform is straight up idiotic and childish. Really right now? Really?

Don't be evil, google said. Let's prevent YouTube API usage on particular platform, google said...

Speculation has it that google is shanking Microsoft because they're actually making more money off android than google themselves, due to royalties. That's what happens when you release a free-to-use platform and don't properly license patents...

+100 for metrotube! The only google app I miss is google talk, and that's because I have some friends who apparently can't or just refuse to text LOL!

All I can say is my wife and I love our Nokia 920's, it is a great and solid built phone. I like it better than my iPhone and I like it better than my droid by leaps and bounds!!

Microsoft to this day has not made the current version of the microsoft networking protocols public. They never have. At best they document previous generation protocols and leave the current ones a dark secret. Always have, always will... Microsoft is no different now than before.

(Actually "always" will will stop the day they only have 20% of the market and are insanely desperate to survive I guess)

Well, he wasn't necessarily referred to the anti-trust violations.

It's not really shocking that companies try to protect their interests, and make things difficult on competitors. Where I take issue is when MS makes it seem like Google is doing something that they haven't been doing themselves for years.

Just as an example, we could target the fact that MS has released IE5, then IE6, then IE7 and then IE8 and then IE9 and now we are working on IE10...and as a selling point each and every time we have heard about how it's "becoming more and more standards compliant". Yes, for years and years and years we haven't exactly followed web standards and thus sites developed for our browser and our way of doing HTML might not display on alternative browsers which actually follow the standards.

    Hi there
Why do people bother with this sort of stuff -- if you LIKE the new Windows 8 phones (and there's loads of people who do) --then just BUY one -- who on earth cares a toss whatever "The opposition" say about competing products.

I like the SAMSUNG Galaxy latest smart phones -- I have the Galaxy IIIs and it's little brother - the Galaxy IIIs Mini. (I need two - one my home number and another "pay as you go" type when I'm on contract in various countries so I can have a local number) - but other people might not like android -- just use what you are happy with.

From what I've seen of the new Windows 8 phones --they look perfectly good to me -- if I hadn't have already bought the Samsungs I'd definitely be considering them -- note the Windows 8 phones --not the earlier Windows 7 mobile stuff -- those weren't great phones.

Use your OWN research -- remember the experts don't always get it right -- just look at the Standard and Poors credit rating agency -- they didn't see the whole Banking crisis coming with all the "Sub prime slime" until it was right under their nose - and even then they didn't think "it was a serious problem" -- and people still rely on this type of agency today. !!!

    Cheers
