Windows 8 build 7867 screenshots surface, hint at impending leak

With Microsoft well at work on the next version of Windows — more specifically with Windows 8 M2 development underway — many are hoping for a build to escape Redmond and leak upon us. The build may very well have escaped Redmond, but not to the general public, but through a chain of under-the-table passing from one trustee to the next.
DeviantArt user Misaki2009 with ties to the Russian leaking community has published the following screenshots of 6.2.7867.0.101020-1800 on his dA page:

I dunno, bring on the leaks! We'll try to be nice to the site. However, it looks great as it is so I'm sure it must be a lot of behind the scenes stuff to be done that isn't readily apparent to us average users. :)

Thanks Aaron! :)

Edit: Here's a screen he doesn't have on his DA. It's just him proving his copy is legit ;)

I guess in the interest of due process I should note that Tom Warren of WinRumors and Neowin is calling a fake on this one. Link to tweet

Either way, the surfacing of this image isn't going to have an effect on a leak, as the guy said he won't leak the build.

I guess it's not that hard to get the pre-RC build of IE9 working, anyone can do it ;)

An update to the whole saga that's been going on surrounding this.

It turns out the person who posted this was given a .vhd image from another person. Person number two apparantly made the .vhd himself and passed it off as a an early version of Windows 8.

In the end, it is fake

Would really like to see something not photochopped, but that's probably going to be down the road a bit.

Heck with the screen leaks, how about at least an "alpha." That would be something to start with much better than some funky screen you cannot play with. :sleepy:

I was just going to mention it. Man peeps love to be the first on news. At least make sure it's real so you don't loose credibility.

How about my 36 year owned and 39 year old first car ever bought. Just stolen and currently un-recovered ! I'm sure there is a lesson in this somewhere but I'm not that smart to understand it yet. In place of enlightenment all I have is an aching pain in my body, for memories stolen and promises of potential displaced !HPIM0328.jpg
