True Image Lite 2013 beta offers no-frill backups

Acronis International has released a beta version of True Image Lite 2013, a stripped-down version of its True Image backup tool.

The new release ditches disk, partition, email and file backup types, for instance (there’s non-stop backup and online backup only). There are no full or differential backups (just incremental). No scheduling, no backups to CDs, DVDs or Blu-ray, no option to create a bootable recovery disc, and of course none of the extensive settings you’ll find in the full True Image package.

    Hi there

THIS is a 100% TOTAL WASTE of time on W8.

    1) File History in Windows 8 does this function anyway if you set it on (built in part of Windows 8 ) and you don't have to be online to use it.

    2) Online backup only -- so what if you aren't connected to the net

    3) the only useful backup anyway in 99 % of cases is to be able create a BOOTABLE partition Image !! which this doesn't do of course.

Don't waste any time with this one -- just switch on File History in Windows 8 --much better if this limited functionality is all you need.

    Cheers

Frankly, I'd have no use for this, but figured I'd let people know about it It's not just online backup BTW. Just non-stop for local backups.
