What do normal people think of new Windows 8 PCs?

I showed Windows 8 to six people yesterday, by the way, I made my first Windows 8 service sale yesterday! The sale was for friend of a friend that has xp running a Dell puter that for some reason had xp instead of vista running. I showed him the apps and Start Screen, he really liked it over xp. Mind you, he is a line cook at a restaurant.

And the other five people were some of my friends of which I was also showing Windows 8 and they had some time to play with it on a laptop I had with me along with my Windows 8 To Go drive, and they all want to upgrade to Windows 8. A couple are recent high school grads and the other few are in college.
    What does that show?

    Your enthusiasm is infectious, perhaps?

You know a lot of people were sold PPI (payment protection insurance ). The salesmen were very enthusiastic, the customers were happy to buy it - they could relax with their peace of mind.

A few people figured out it what it really was. Fortunately, because it is Financial Services - there is a Regulator, and he responded.

Now the banks are repaying hundreds of millions.

Just because it is possible to sell a product - that does not make it a good product.

That is one line cook with good taste. Given an open mind, I think anyone should like Windows 8 and it is warm to drive in the winter.

    Nope. It was fortunately reality.

I don't really understand, because normal people ACTUALLY like Windows 8, this is impossible and inconceivable? Literally, all I did was just open the apps, close them, and show navigation as well as the Start Screen.

His words, "I like this over that old shite."

I have to say that I made a similar experience with a bunch of seniors at my computer club. They thought that Windows 8 was nice. But they all were a simple bunch who were only using very basic applications - mostly mail

I think we are all 'normal people'. The fact that we are a bit more versed in Windows does not make us abnormal.

I am just trying to get a grip on Android because I want to buy a Nexus 7 tablet. I can tell you, I feel very much like normal people. Read the posts here and you will know what I am talking about - unless you are an Android guru already.

Well, there is always actually finding normal people we personally know and show them Windows 8, and by I mean an ACTUAL rundown of it and not saying that it's confusing and took you a while to understand and not really show them anything.

By this measure, I can personally say my normal people have had an overwhelmingly positive reaction to it. And to Windows PCs, I've taken a couple of friends with me to go play with them one day, they actually though it was interesting ESPECIALLY the Fresh Paint app!
