    What Microsoft should have done

We ear a lot of complain about Windows 8, especially the integration of the Start Page, but here what I tough will have bring more money to Microsoft:

Instead of bring a tablet OS to the Desktop, they should have bring the tablet to the desktop:

1- If you look at the Xbox SmartGlass, it allow you from a tablet or pc to control the Xbox
2- With an Android tablet you can text using your Android phone as connecting device

So why don't Microsoft is not using a tablet to :
    1- run Metro Apps
2- control some apps running on the PC ( kind of Remote Desktop)

Simple; use the Tablet as a Desktop extension and do not force desktop users to use a tablet OS , I can even see someone docking the tablet on the PC to use it as touch monitor for some desktop apps ( like paint or hand writing)

1- Metro Apps on the PC ; Optional and charge for it ( xtra money here, especially since they charge only $ 40 for an upgrade)
2- Better Integration between the Tablet and the PC
    3- Way more storage

If they have done this route a lot of peoples ( including me ) will purchase tablets just because it give more option to our PC and other peoples will still be able to use this tablet with Metro apps on it, no need for desktop on a tablet.

Simple, get the Start Page out of my PC, allow me to use a tablet for it, more options less hassle

I hope it's clear in my poor English

Yes, that obviously would be better for the consumer.

It is not better for MS .

BTW - I enjoy the way you type with a french accent.

they should have finished it, email app isn't finished, ie10 metro browser is clumsy, no desktop touchscreen monitors on the market , xbox smartglass with no password verifier, etc.

Oh well, I guess for $40 I can't complain too much.

Windows 8 is made for either a dual monitor or a touch screen
If you look at many of the metro apps you will see this
    First:
to purchase another monitor is costly
To purchase a touch screen monitor is costly
Not everyone has the money to spend on "toys" like this

Maybe Micrososft should have come out with two OS's instead. One with all the Metro apps on it and one that is an advanced Windows 7 or at least given us the choice to make it in classic view for Windows 7 or Metro

You see my french accent ? lol I'm from Quebec, it's not the same french, it's more barbarian

Robin, ok I'm thinking for myself but many buy a tablet and a phone too. at least Microsoft should have make it possible to interface the tablet with the PC and make the Metro optional on the PC

this is just talk for fun

The point is to keep pushing the start screen at you as much as they can .

That way you are much more likely to go to the MS clouds.

If they let you choose - it is much less likely desktop users will do that.

    It is marketing.

    Yep.

    It isn't difficult for MS.

You see people posting up how they like the little squares, etc. They do not see what is going on - therefore they are easily led.
