They didn't care as only ten people owned a Windows phone.

    Good luck SurfCast...

So does SurfCast have a shot at making this lawsuit stick? Well, over at Ars Technica, Jon Brodkin calls the company a "patent troll."
"SurfCast says it has suffered 'harm and injury' as a result of Microsoft's infringement," Brodkin writes. "But since SurfCast claims to have invented its tile-based technology in the 1990s and doesn't sell any products based upon it, it's hard to see how Microsoft's use of tiles in a brand-new operating system is costing the company any revenue."

Windows 8 tiles infringed on our patent, says SurfCast - CSMonitor.com

It looks like the scrambled to get a quality website up just for this? It also describes their tiles as being used on phones, tablets and the cloud. Wow, I didn't know they had all that back in the 90's.

I guess they took after Apples actions. Samsung had been copying iPhone designs for years but Apple only sued them after Samsung became the top phone selling company.

Microsoft will just pay them, or license their patent(s). Happens a lot with technology. A company does something with a particular design, another company (let's call them trolls ) sue them over that. Then it gets settled.

Yes, because only then was Samsung possible to eat into Apple's sales.

I highly doubt the company lost any sales. it better be thrown out of court.

Work tiles and play tiles in General Support
I have a surface pro 2 and i use it at work so i ideally want my "work tiles" on the front screen and them at a certain time then say switch to my home/play tiles at say 6pm. Is this possible to have a set of tiles for a certain job rather then setting up two accounts?
I'm torn between letting Windows 8.1 automatically sync to my Outlook.com account and use the interfaces provided in Windows 8?
