This is an interesting twist of events. It's interesting because the one thing I did like about metro was because I thought it was a completely new idea. How they used the icons/tiles. But I guess someone is always one step ahead of you. I don't know how much they copied of this company's idea but I feel unless it's exactly the same it's kind ridiculous to say they were copying. I mean think about it, the mac dock was an idea that I believe was thought up before but there was just no execution. They executed it and people think they invented the idea but I'm sure many people have similar ideas. I think it's all a matter of opinions. I hate that microsoft keeps saying a UI is ugly because it creates faux real material. I didn't like how windows achieved the look in 7 because it was not that will done but Mac actually does do a good job of this. Hopefully it all works out, the windows 8 tiles aren't the best but it's using it in a decent way.

I'm torn between letting Windows 8.1 automatically sync to my Outlook.com account and use the interfaces provided in Windows 8? Or just add URLs (as apps for the start menu) for Outlook.com mail, calendar and people. The latter is a much better interface (IMO) and the only thing I seem to lose is...
Windows 8 Start Screen Customizer worked well for this in W8. However, it doesn't work with 8.1. I've already emailed the developer, but without a response. Is there an alternative method to getting no tiles show on the start screen or if possible, just one tile and the rest unvisible until...

Never thought I would say this, but Windows 8 is growing on me. I bought my copy for 40$ after a more extended trial. I still cannot see myself installing it on my work computer, but I see great potential for the OS as an entertainment pc, once some of the quirks are worked out of it. Most of my...
