Three days in the life of a once and former Microsoft Surface RT user

Don't hate me for posting this, lol :D

David Gewirtz showcases three days in the life of a typical consumer, originally excited by the Microsoft Surface RT tablet, who eventually becomes more and more upset and disappointed. David predicts this scenario will be repeated over and over in real life.

Nobody will hate you. ;)
RT is frustrating, but it'll become more "usable" as time goes on. It confuses consumers, though. :)

The MS employees are at fault, how can you not know about a brand new OS and hardware? Inexcusable.

Agreed - thankfully you don't get that from the Microsoft store employees anymore (although I suppose they didn't have proper training to begin with, unfortunately). Hopefully the original story writer enjoys his iPad, although going with the iPad because it can't run his previous Windows apps is really just sour [DEL]apples[/DEL] grapes ;). I guess this will happen, but hopefully not too often - Windows RT really is "good enough" for most people to get work done, but companies that have used proprietary software to lock down their networks could lock people out until those drivers can be ported, if at all.

Actually, I call BS.

I was looking at the box for the ASUS Vivo RT tablet, and on the back, it clearly says in a patch of text that Windows RT isn't compatible with existing desktop software. You would have to be one silly blind bat to not see that bit right there, within a patch of text on the back of the box which by the way, has no other text so you'd probably read it.

I actually came across a guy that returned his ipad just recently because it couldn't handle Word documents or any actual text documents outside of the notepad on it. :p

The Vivo tablet was the one device I sat down and played with at the Microsoft Store today...
