While poking around with Outlook, I came across the above.
Is it relevant with my question of product key not being asked to enter ?

I did find it odd that I haven't been asked to activate Office 2013 yet, but you could get a free key at the Microsoft link below to use to do so.

I already have the key which I got from the announcement link you posted in News forum.
What I want to know is ........what do I do with it ?
I have not been asked for the key and all Office 13 programs are useable.
    So, what now ?

You should be able to click on the Change Product Key number link in your Office 2013 screenshot above to enter the key number to activate it.

Where was the "About" option in Outlook 2013. I'll look at mine to see if I get the same?

    EDIT:
Never mind. Found it. File -> Office Account

Entering the key number this way does activate it.

Thank you. I just did the activation.
    Appears to go through ok.

Click on File (upper left) -> Account and in the right side of the window paste your key.

I also run Office 2013 in VMware Player and all goes well. There is only a white theme available so far.

I don't mind the theme as long as hi contrast is available (which is):

    Office works great!
The Metro interface is plain but fits Win8 better.
