    Hackintosh 10.10 Yosemite VMware with "activation" issues

    Hey,

    so I have a vm with Yosemite 10.10 working, I can sign into app store it recognizes my account and everything, but when I attempt to use Message , OR Facetime

    1. Asks me to sign in = succeed

    2. Tells me the person "account" needs to access the password thing and to either,
    A) Always Allow
    B) Allow
    C) Deny

    this is where it goes crazy and says "There has been a issue with the *Activation Process* please try again later"

    so I have read some forums saying they use Virtual Box, or some other type of Virtualization Software and to download Chimera 2.2.1, and some other stuff...

    My question is, does anyone know if these steps will WORK for a VMware software or do I have to go another route

    Thanks;

    Nope. Not something a PC site would worry about. Try searching Apple Support.

    What VM software are you using? Do you have an Apple ID? Both Message and Facetime require one.
    Can you post a screenshot of what's happening?

    VMware Player 6.0

    Mac OSX 10.10 Yosemite is installed and works perfectly, other then the fact that it wont let me sign into Facetime OR Messages.
    I do have an Apple ID, I had an Iphone 4s for 3 years until I switched to Android, I am able to sign into the appstore and everything

    Ok, I don't use Message. Facetime can be real picky about what's in your hosts file (the mac one). Look in /etc/hosts, it should look like this:

    Code:
    ##
    # Host Database
    #
    # localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
    # when the system is booting. Do not change this entry.
    ##
    127.0.0.1    localhost
    255.255.255.255    broadcasthost
    ::1             localhost
    fe80::1%lo0    localhost
    It's possible the VM is keeping you from using it. Also be aware installing Yosemite (or any other mac OS except server) into a VM, on any platform, is against the EULA. (not here to preach, just be aware)

    So I checked the host file for the windows AND the vmware MAC's and its the regular files in its

    Code:
    ##
    # Host Database
    #
    # localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
    # when the system is booting. Do not change this entry.
