virtualbox no 64 bit option

Hi all my virtual box doesn't have the 64 bit option only 32 bit ????? tried the searching online but none of the fixes have fixed my set up ? any ideas win 8.1

Is the host 32 or 64 bit?

Depending on what exactly you're trying to do, you might need to edit a setting in your BIOS to enable hardware virtualisation, in order to run 64-bit guests on the host machine. This is explained in this VirtualBox help page: I have a 64bit host, but can't install 64bit guests.
