When I was reading about installing Windows in a Hyper-V VM on Windows 8.x, I thought I had read that Windows is licensed per host, not per VM, so you can use the same product key for Windows 8.x in the VM as on the host.
But now that I've installed Windows 8 in a Hyper-V VM on Windows 8.1, it's telling me that it can't use that product key because that product key is already in use on another machine:
"This product key is already being used on another PC. Try a different key, or buy a new one."
So, does each Hyper-V VM running Windows 8 require it's own product key, even if the host is running Windows 8 and is activated?
