Yes, one for 64-bit 7 and one for 32-bit XP.

Yes. It is normal to load your ISO there before starting the VM for installation. I guess that if you don't it will default to your DVD drive.

I don't use the Oracle software, but i will not be surprise you install the VM in the physic drive instead of a VHD , I go try it to see if you can do this.

Well, Area 66, if we never hear from you again, we'll know that it worked.

Vince, what you are telling us is simply not possible.

    The most probable scenario:
You not knowing how to set a vm to install from ISO tells you are not so experienced in VirtualBox. You started your new vm, entered DVD and clicked Next or OK or whatever, so instead of starting an installation on your vm as you thought, you started on installation on your Windows 7 desktop. This led to reboot, as always when installing Windows.

I do not want to offend you, just stating the facts: What you told was happening is not possible. This is a typical error caused by user.

You get it.... of course when he put the DVD it's start the Install. I don't think about it because I always install from an iso on my HD, no need to burn a DVD.

    I agree with Kari

If you click the right buttons on the right windows all should be alright.

    Be careful where you click.
