Can I dual boot from an existing virtual machine using Easy BCD

I have a windows vista laptop which is too slow for vm ware win8 virtual machine. I was wondering if I can make a dual boot entry using easyBCD linking it to the vm in my C drive?

    Ok thanks
Can i create a VHD in vista. I cant see an option in disk managemet like win7. can it only be done within cmd on booting win8 boot media?
Sorry I dont know that much about this, i have set up dual boot on win 7 before with partitions but it led to complications so i would prefere vhd if possible.
    Thanks

In Windoes 7 you can boot from a VHD. But you need the Ultimate or Enterprise editions for that. Virtual Hard Drive VHD File - Create and Start with at Boot - Windows 7 Forums

I am not sure whether that would work in Vista. But in any case, you could run Win8 in Virtual Box. That works great. I am running it like that. It has a lot of advantages like running the host and guest seemlessly together. https://www.eightforums.com/tutorials...r-preview.html

    Hello OVG,

Since this is an existing VHD fiile from the virtual machine, you might be able to use the tutorial below to dual boot with it.

    thanks for the reply brink
sadly i wont be able to boot a vhd created in vm ware, it says so at end of your form link and i have vista home premium anyway so I dont think I can boot any type of vhd.
So, is creating another partition the only option for me?

No it isn't. Use vBox - a lot easier. See post #4.

i tried vbox and it wouldnt install win8, so i used vm ware player. my laptop is too slow for virtual machines, sometimes (sorry most of the time) vista lags on its own (but i was still surprised how good win8 ran in vm but its just not fast enough for any proper use) so it has to be a dual boot for me.
also my laptop has a good enough spec and is very well capable of running win8, the lag is just a vista installation problem i think.

my laptop is HP G70 with 32bit vista, 3GB ram, intel core 2 duo

    Please help me

What was the problem with vBox. I use that since years (also on Vista) and never had any major problems - just little glitches. But it works with Win8 and Ubuntu right now. I also made the Win7 Beta in vBox and then the host was Vista.
