How to enable and access an USB storage device such as a flash memory stick or a SIM card reader from Windows XP running on Hyper-V.

So far, I am unable to set it right...
Thanks

I'll try to give some help here.
Since I don't have Pro version I cannot help with advanced Hyper-V topics. I use VMware where usb works perfectly.

Have a look here for Hyper-V usb support, since usb is mentioned in the settings list:
How to mapping USB into Hyper-V on windows 8?

But it seems you need to RDP (use remote desktop) to the VM and gain access to new functionality, usb included.

    That's basically it.
Hyper-V doesn't do pass-through of USB devices, but making an RDP connection to the virtual machine (versus using the hyper-v vmconnect application) allows redirection of USB and other devices (like audio, webcams, etc) to the virtual machine.
