Hi everybody

I'm still running and using Windows 2003 server and Windows XP as Virtual Machines.

I'm confused now as to when security updates for these systems will end.
Any link or definitive dates please.

I know XP has a different end of support date to Windows 2003 but not sure whether it's 2013 or 2014.

Thanks everybody

Cheers

Too bad that Windows XP Professional x64 Edition (that is build from Windows Server 2003 SP1 codebase (NT 5.2.3790)) will get the same EOS date with regular Windows XP (that is build from pure Windows XP (NT 5.1.2600))

Hi there

Thanks for the Info -- not sure how I missed it -- anyway good to know I've still got 2 years left with w2003 --excellent system -- robust, fast and safe -- and everything works unlike W2012 server. !!

I'll still keep my XP system also for a while yet --I have some really EXPENSIVE legacy hardware where the original manufacturer has long since gone out of business -- to replace the hardware and invest in a new system just isn't worth the 30,000 USD this would cost when the old hardware works brilliantly and I'm not bothered about Internet connection too much on this particular VM so the threat of Viruses don't bother me at all in this case. I just do the windows update as a matter of routine -- on the XP system I don't really need it though. !!

A lot of old Emgineering and Laboratory type equipment will run for DECADES --and it's not the sort of stuff you upgrade very often anyway so I expect for these types of applications XP will probably STILL be around long after W7 and W8 have "Morphed" into something else. !!

Cheers
