Solved Removing a VHD

Hello, as the title states, I am wondering how I could remove, or possible delete a VHD created as a partition of my C drive.

I recently partitioned it to install Windows 7 on it, though I don't need anymore, so I decided I'd remove it, my problem now is I don't know how.

Thanks in advance.

I think first, you would need to layout the process step by step of how and in what order you created things.

In all honesty, you may be better off backing up data and start from scratch with the OS you want to use.
From the sounds of it, you did not crate a VHD, cause you are referring to 2 different things.

A VHD is a Virtual Hard Drive that is a single file located somewhere on the system that you would then put an entry to in the Boot Menu to boot to.

Partitioning the drive is creating a partition on a physical drive.

Just to add this,, I would advise you back up data you don't want to lose regardless of what you do at this point
Deleting, reclaiming empty drive space can cause problems and lose data if something goes wrong

To elaborate on the above. It will also depend on how you created things and it which order as the Boot Files will most likely reside on the c: drive. If you try deleting it and changing things, you could bork the whole system anyway, resulting in the very recommended process of nuke and reload.

I honestly don't know what it's called, I just thought they were the same thing, anyway, here's how I did it.
1. I went to Disk Management
2. Clicked on my C: Drive, and clicked shrink volume.
3. The available size to be shrunk at that time, was around 40,000mb(40gb), so I shrunk 20,000mb(20gb).
4. It made the drive, it's named as O:, with a description of Logical Drive.
5. I installed Windows 7 on that drive, worked fine.

Now, what I want to do is get rid of that O: Drive and the Windows 7 in it. It doesn't have any personal files in it.
The only thing is I don't know how, nor do I know if after the Drive's removal, will the 20gb returned to my C: Drive.

You can attempt the following

Go to Disk Management
Find that partition and delete it
Try expanding the partition as you did before instead of shrinking it

It is still advised to back up any data on the primary drive before attempting this as anything can happen.
If something goes wrong, you could lose all data on all partitions.

I clicked Delete Volume, now it's just a free space. This is what's left after I clicked Delete Volume on the partition with Windows 7 on it. http://puu.sh/1xiSQ
