Hello there,

Is the key already used?
If it failed twice then we can assume it's true and that the key cannot be used on a second pc.
If it's a VM, you probably need it for some tests but without a key you'll get a few extra days (30days evaluation + rearms?).

Sorry.

Question; did you try to install Windows 8 and activate elsewhere than this VM using the same key ? ( like in the host ) I means if you activate it in VM, you can't use it elsewhere

You mention you save it for future use, did you clone it to use the clone ?

No , i didnt make a clone..... i just export it...Bad choice?

usually when you use 2 Vm , you need 2 different keys, so if you have extra key ( like me ) you can copy the VM and activate it with a new key

export it is the same as " copy it " in Vmware, so it's means it will remove the Security ID (SID) and the Activation, you see with VM, if you clone a Master, you can use the clone only as the Security ID (SID) stay the same as the master, but if you plan to use the Master at the same time as the clone you have to use export or copy it ( depend on the Vm software ) and you will need to activate the copy ( and a new key )

On Windows 7 you can't use the clone and the master at same time it's against the EULA, but it's perfectly OK to keep the Master in storage and use the Clone, and Only 1 clone.

Well ,
if i try to upgrade my windows 7 ,maybe i dont have any problem then?

yes you will have the same problem, your key is activate with the VM , if you update Windows 7 , you have to delete the VM and call MS to activate it. You can't use the same key for the physical PC and the VM
