Hi there

No, your current CPU won't install any x64 VM without virtualisation, either you're using VMware W Or VBox or any other virtualisation suite.
Therefore you should try the x86 Win8 install on a VM.

To still test the x64: You have to dualboot or dualboot on VHD: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2393-windows-8-vhd-create-boot-dual-boot.html?ltr=W to install alongside the current Win7 to be able to test the x64 on your current system.

In short, the current support on your machine:

- x86 host: yes
- x86 guest: yes

- x64 host: yes
- x64 guest: no

Hope this helps.

    That's basically it.
Yes I also use the extension pack and the WDDM driver got better. But with his CPU he has to go with 32bit VM's.
And he needs Intel VT-x or AMD-V for x64 VM's, as I said: "either you're using VMware W Or VBox or any other virtualisation suite".
For the rest, all should go well.
