Hi!

To my very unpleasen surprise windows also removed my user account when I used the [DEL]refresh[/DEL] reset feature.

I saved the windows partition totally before doing this. How do I restore my user account?

Also how do I access some sort of account manager? Without thinking I created a new account with the same name so, I'll likely need to rename/remove that.

Hello avada,

It sounds like you may have "reset" Windows instead of "refresh".

What method did you use to save the Windows partition?

The tutorial below will show you how to delete a user account, but be sure that you always have an administrator account available or you will end up locking yourself out of the computer.

Indeed. I misspoke. It in no way mentioned that I will loose also the account... As a matter of fact I did the same with the 8.1 installation disk before, and my account was not removed, only all the user files from the drive. Microsoft is very "reliable"...

Anyway. I suffered through most of the annoyances with the ntfs priviliges by now. (a titanic heap of garbage in itself.)

Oh, yeah. I copied the partition on a different drive as a backup. Also did a backup with macrium reflect.

At least you'll be able to restore the Macrium Reflect backup.
