Solved User Account Settings administrator problm

Hi, I have been getting quite frustrated with the UAC message constantly popping up on my Windows 8.1 laptop. There are two accounts on my laptop and mine is the only administrator. My problem is when I try to move the slider from always notify to never notify it says You must be logged on as an administrator on this computer to select this setting. Any information on this would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance.

For anyone else having this problem, I'm not 100% sure what it was or where but I found something that needed updating. After that the computer restarted and everything was fine.

I am having the same issue I am the admin and guest access is turned off but it constantly is telling me i need admin to access my account settings and programs really tired of this and I can not change it to standard i need permission to do this even though i am supposed to be the only account user and i am the ADMIN...>>.<< really annoying this is the third time I have attempted to change this over the past 6 months and each time i just get more frustrated and give up i hope someone can help i have research this and short of creating a new user account i dont want to go that route i want to use the account i set up for me to use but not with the log in password access on log in any more just a simple boot up and access my admin account I do not have other people in the house any more so I dont need pass word protection just throwing in more essential info
