Have come here trying to sort out an annoying problem with my laptop.
Bought new early this year with Win 8.1 as OEM install.
A "while" ago (mid-year'ish) I noticed that I was having problems finding files - would work on a document, save it, go to re-open it & couldn't find it.
After pulling some hair out, I realised that all of a sudden, I had 2 sets of user documents & pictures?
NB I don't mean user accounts - I only have 1 x admin account + 1 x user account that I use all the time.
When I open "This PC" or "Windows Explorer" - "Documents", I see:
which is perfectly normal.
But when I go down & open "Windows (C:\)" - "Users", I have 2 users: "Graeme" & "Graeme_2", both of which have more or less the same list of documents:
But, as I have found earlier today & checking my backed-up files on an external HD, some of my documents are apparently saving to "Graeme" while others are saving to "Graeme_2"?
I now have full copies of both backed-up, but need to resolve this before it causes a problem - I only found it today because I thought I'd just check one of the backed-up files only to find it dated February, not today :shock:
Graeme_2 is apparently the most current file, so I tried to go in & delete Graeme, with the idea of then renaming Graeme_2, but was unable to delete it as "some files or folders are in use"?
Anybody got any thoughts or suggestions?
