Administrator account problem

I have installed windows 8.1 and become administrator. But inspire of logging in as administrator I can't delete or rename any file or folder. I always receive the message that you don't have administrator permission to perform this action. Kindly advice how to get full administrator powers to delete or rename any files or folders and to perform other functions.
