What's the best way to tranfer or copy a user profile on the SAME MACHINE? I emphasize this because all the searches I've done recommend Windows Easy Transfer to transfer a profile from one machine to the other. I want to do this on the same machine. Because, my machine is joined to a domain and I want to disjoin it and preserve the domain based user profile and restore it to a local one.
WET confuses me because when I run it, I get 2 choices; "Have you already used WET to save your files from another PC?" Yes or No. No just closes the window. Yes assumes I have a profile to read from. This IS the "other PC". There's no option to copy the profile off. I'm supposed to be asked if I'm using a flash drive or external HD and copy it off. I don't get it.
Is there a way of doing this that works?
