When I set up Windows 8.1 I mistakenly merged two Skype accounts. I now want to delete the merged account entirely and set up two new accounts ( one for my wife and one for me). I cannot find a way to do this although one web site suggest cancelling my Microsoft accounts ( we have 2) and start again. T
his seems a little drastic. Can anyone provide instructions on how I might achieve the change, please?

Hello Trevor,

If you wanted to start over completely, then closing the Microsoft accounts and creating new ones with different email address would be the way to go.

Otherwise, you could change your primary alias email address to what you wanted for each Microsoft account, and remove any non-primary alias you do not want associated with the Microsoft account anymore.

Hope this helps, :)

Shawn, many thanks for the information.

I really would prefer not to delete my MS Accounts and start over again. This just seems a bit drastic given that I am only trying to "edit" my accounts in a single application; namely, Skype.

We have two separate email addresses associated with our two MS Accounts - one is g-mail the other outlook. The only place the two are merged into one application is with Skype. Ideally, I would like to limit the changes, or edits, to the Skype accounts only - perhaps this is what you are suggesting? I thought I could simply delete my current account together with all the settings and then create new Skype accounts using the two email addresses we have.

Is this possible? It sounds like this is not the case from your reply but perhaps I asked the question incorrectly?

Thanks so much for your help and suggestions.
