Password for Administrator

Hello,

I was wondering is anyone could help me with this please. I had recently activated my Administrator's account on Windows 8. But I was tired of having to put in the password each time and I made it where it would bypass that by hitting the windows key plus the x key then clicking on the Command Prompt (Admin). I put in "control userpasswords2" and hit 'enter', then I unticked the box that says "Users must enter username and password to use this computer" then click apply and restarted my computer.

But now I am having a problem where I need more privacy on my computer and I want to have it where people have to sign in with the user name and password to use my computer. But when I do all the same things and tick the box again that says users have to use the username and password etc... it doesn't seem to work. It still doesn't require my username and password.

Can anyone help me with this please?

Hello Claudia,

When you unchecked the Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer box, did you click on OK to apply?

If you did, then double check to make sure that the user account is password protected. By default, the built-in elevated "Administrator" account doesn't have a password.
