Can a User's password be changed by the Administrator

Coming from XP, I am trying to get oriented to Win8. What has me confused is how to control the passwords of Users.

I am the Administrator and some time ago I created a User without Admin privileges. Unfortunately I did not write down the PW, however, as Admin, I do not see a way to change the password (as Admins could under XP).

What are my options besides deleting the user (it is actually for me)?

    Hello Todd,

An administrator will be able to change any other local account's password on the computer.

Local Account Password - Change or Remove in Windows 8

The password of a Microsoft account can only be changed by the account's owner though.

Microsoft Account Password - Change or Reset in Windows 8

If you like, could also just delete the Microsoft account on your PC, but this doesn't close the account online. That would have to be manually done.

    Microsoft Account - Close

    Hope this helps,

When I go the other user (actually for me), this is what I see:

I do not see where/how to change the password.

The user in that screenshot is a Microsoft account (email address), and not a local account (like Windows 7).

The tutorials I posted above for a Microsoft account will help show you how to either reset the password, delete it on the PC, or close the account.
