Win 8.1 Adminstrator Rights access problem

    Good morning

Being new to Win 8.1 I have created Aministrator rights problem.

I bought a new laptop recently and created a 2 users and both were supposed to have administrator rights but do not and this is creating havoc with me trying to personalise it.

How do I change the account types seeing as the my system won't allow me to?Good morning

Any help on how to fix this without reinstalling 8.1 would be appreciated.

Control panel is located in Apps unless you have modified it to appear in Start or task bar, or both.

go to user accounts in control panel, select your own account, make sure its admin, if not do this to yours too - then go to the other account and manage account - click on change account type.

I have noticed sometimes - eg: if I am mving a pic or file from my account to my wifes or daughters, a window pops up and says I need admin rights - bloody idiot - I am admin!! I just click try again and it works.

What I have done also if you are only user eg: no kids. Is go into cpanel and type in search 'uac' and switch off the uac control. (pull slider right down) Thats the box that keeps coming up asking if you are sure you want to do this. I found it quite annoying but thats just me

Make sure you don't make your only account standard and have no admin account though.
