There is a screen - I don't know its proper name - it's the screen where you go to choose a user account to log in. This is the same screen you see when you want to 'switch user.'

How do I change the background color of this screen?

Wrong screen. That's not the screen I'm talking about.

To see the screen I'm talking about, do this:
  1. Go to the Windows 8/8.1 desktop.
  2. Press :winkey:+X.
  3. Go to 'Shut down or sign out.'
  4. Choose 'Sign out.'

You will be brought to a screen with icons for each of the computer's user accounts. That's the screen I'm talking about. How do I change the background color of that screen?

Here's a picture of that screen (not mine):

If you mean that awful dark purple background color, check the options in the link carefully, I'm sure it's what you're after.

Ta da! Option no. 2 did the trick. No offense intended against purple-lovers, but I'm finally rid of that color.

Thanks for your help.
