    Multi-year Windows 8.1 without passwords

Hello community. Me and my wife, have a PC with Win8.1 installed. The thing is that the constant requirement of entering user passwords everything we switch is very annoying.

Is there anyway to bypass password screens for all users when Windows are booting or when we change users?

Thank in advance for your time

Hi Gonik, welcome to the Eight Forums.

That can be done using a Local Account. Windows 8 and 8.1 can use either a Microsoft Account or a Local Account, difference being that a Microsoft Account is connected to an email address. As an email account always requires a password it cannot be removed, therefore the password is also required when signing in to Windows. To put it very short, a Microsoft Account always needs a password.

A Local Account is traditional Windows user account as used in Windows 7 and earlier versions. It may or may not have a password, as user has selected, and even if the password is selected it can be removed. When a Local Account is used in Windows 8 or 8.1, the user can select a separate and individual email account to be used with each Windows Store App needing an email account.

Hello Gonik, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Another option is to use a fingerprint reader (if available) or PIN instead of entering a password.

User Account - Create a PIN in Windows 8

Fingerprint - Add or Remove Fingers in Windows 8.1

Related Threads I went into my passwords in chrome as I'd forgotten my rooster teeth password, and when I clicked 'show password' it asks me to enter my windows password, this is new behavior I've not seen in chrome before and I cannot find any documentation on it.
I had to put Windows 7 Ultimate on my home server as I couldn't get media center to install on Windows Home Server 2011, so I could have the server record my tv shows for me. But on my windows 8 machine, it doesn't connect at all or sometimes it will ask for a name and password. I tried telling...
Hello all! I have a problem. I have a NAS on my network and I can easely access it in my typing in a password and an username. So far so good. What bothers me is that every time I reboot I have to retype user and password like the first time! How can I make Windows remember this kind of password?
Hi all, Since my upgrade to Windows 8, my computer is not saving any program passwords. The two that I notice are for Windows Live Mail, and Gotomypc. Logs are reporting encryption issues. I have checked, and drive encryption is turned off. WLM searches have lead me to a registry key issues...

Is there any way to not have a password to log into my new laptop with windows 8 on it. If not, can I setup a different password for my wife and my daughter? If so, will I have to get each one of them a seperate e-mail account? thanks, Wiley E. Coyote.
Greetings, I was anticipating this to be a headache, since it only worked in Win7 by throwing spaghetti at a wall. Essentially, I have a dual monitor display. The right monitor is primary, the left is to be used by art programs, movies, games, and other more specialized work (as well as...
