Hi

In Windows 8.1 Update 1, while creating a Microsoft account, Windows creates, locally, a user profile with a directory in the Users directory.

It is possible to set before the name of the user profile directory so that when a user creates his Microsoft account, Windows creates, locally, its profile in the directory previously set?

Thanks

It sure is. Create a local account and then convert it to a microsoft account http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/4840-microsoft-account-switch-windows-8-a.html

I do not want to convert a local to Microsoft account but I would make sure to set a priori the directory name of the local profile of a Microsoft account to make sure that, when actually I will create the Microsoft account, in the C:\Users directory, Windows would save his profile in a directory with the name previously given to me. Now, do you understand?

Thanks

Well I thought I understood... For example I wanted to create an account called "Saloua" so the user directory would be C:\Users\Saloua. When I created it as a microsoft account it made the directory C:\Users\SALOU_000 which I thought looked rubbish.

The only way I could specify the name of the user directory how I wanted was to create a local account (called "Saloua") and then later convert it. As far as I know that is the only way.

By chance, does anyone know another way to do this?
