I can see the convenience of doing so, but I just can't bring myself to converting. There are just nagging questions going through my brain about the potential security risks involved with tying your PC with an online account. For example, should my PC become compromised, aren't I just making it easier for someone to access my info, seeing as my email accounts/Onedrive will be logged in continuously? What happens if someone hacks my Microsoft account password and changes it? Do I also lose access to my PC? The whole thing stinks of stupidity too me.

Easiest solution is to get off 8.1. Who needs this pestering.

Don't do it then, if it bothers you that much. It sounds like you already made your mind up before asking the question. Do you do any banking online? Or make online purchases with a credit card?
