I recently bought an Acer S7 laptop that came with Windows 8. I went through the setup, and (I believe) created a local account/login. I did not use my Live account login, except for some of the apps (mail, photos etc). After about a week , I upgraded to 8.1 through the store download yesterday. Today, I turn on my laptop and go to login, but it tells me the login is incorrect. So I try logging in using my Live account (which I didn't really want to do).
Once I'm logged in, Windows is notifying me that I need to change my password because it thinks someone else is trying to use my Live account, which is not the case. My question...did my previous local account get wiped when I upgraded? How do I "unassociate" my Live account with this laptop, and do I have to re-create that previous local account and all the settings?
Thanks for any help!
