First let me say I spend almost ALL my time in the desktop and my main pc's still have win 7.
When I upgraded an old win 7 laptop to 8 I used my HotMail account. After getting some Store apps and setting up SkyDrive I decided I did not like having MS see everything so I created a local account and was able to move most data over, I think from using the Public folders, except for some DRM'ed Flash video courses. On both accounts desktop I believe I installed the win 7 Skydrive download. Next I upgraded in-place to 8.1 and basically had to repeat this process all over again.
Upgrading to 8.1 and trying to get password protected file makes me think I might cave to MS and try to merge both accounts into 1 LIVE account. Does everybody really like having everything on a MS Live account? It seems like they force you if you did want to use any apps and desktop Skydrive. So I'm hoping to get some help trying to merge my 2 accounts into 1 new MS Live user account and not lose the few apps I bought or the DRM. I know it's probably hopeless but any help or suggestions on how would be most welcome.
