Windows 8.1. I inherited a Samsung Model 365E505 laptop. When I turn it on to the sign-in there is a name there and a box for the password. I was able to access the unit because I was supplied the password. I succeeded in changing the password, but I want to change ownership of the unit, so I can see my name there when I go to sign-on. Laptops are new to me, so I need help. Thanks.

Control Panel, User Account.
Create a new account with your name.
Logoff the current account and login with you new account.
If there is nothing you want on the old account, delete it from User Accounts.
If you do this, make sure the new account has Admin-level rights. (By default a new user won't, unless you change it.)

Do this *before* deleting the old account! Otherwise you'll be permanently locked out of some crucial functionality!
