Admin rights problem

I have windows 8.

I recently restored my laptop to factory settings. I entered my microsoft account to make a user, and this was an admin. I created another user, went to control panel, and made my first account standard, and my new account admin.

The account I changed to standard still acts like an admin; as it does not ask for a password when I want to install or change something. Can anyone help me out? I want my standard account to ask for an admin password.

In the atachment I have provided, it is shown that there is an option with the admin shield. Now when I click that, the options are run and cancel. It does not require an admin password.

Hello halpme, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Does the User Account show as an Administrator account in User Accounts still?

You could see if removing the user account from being a member of the Administrators group may help if someone it still is. If you don't have Windows 8 Pro, then you could use OPTION THREE below.

User Accounts - Add or Remove from Groups - Windows 7 Help Forums

Hope this helps for now, :)
