    Only have elevated adminstrator login

I need to find my login in windows 8 pro. I used Winaero User List Enabler and restarted it boots to elevated adminstrator account and gives no options and doesn't ask for a password. Not sure which tutorial applies to my situation. I think I need to create another user for me. I lost my account when I restored an image.

Don't seem to be able to unbold the text. I think I am in the built in Admin account.

    Hello sparhawk,

If you didn't have the user account when the image was created, then that would be why the account doesn't exist now.

If the Reset to defaults option is grayed out in Winaero User List Enabler, then that means you already are using the default settings. You may have undone your previous setting when you did the system image recovery.

Sign in - Show All Users or Last User in Windows 8

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Thanks Brink...as it is now I have the option at logon to choose built in Administrator, Quest and Me. I enter a pin for me and it spins a and dosen't take, then pc boots up to a temporay account. Which I fianlly realized that when i run Winaero User List it dosen't take in the temporary account. Finally I noticed the arrow next to my account picture and I chose the built in admin account, it doesn't require a password.

Something is wrong with my user account, I used the recovery for my account, b ut I think the image probably had an old password.

Hope this is not to hard to read.

It sounds like you got a user profile error. Depending on which error message below you got (if got), see if the tutorial below it may be able to help.

"Your user profile was not loaded correctly! You have been signed in with a temporary profile."
"The User Profile Service failed the sign-in. User profile cannot be loaded."

Brink...things are getting worse. Everytime i restarted it booted to the built in elevated admin account. So I used the command net user....off. So now it trys to load guest account without a password and says please wait for the Sens...then says to see adminstrator. And just loops right back to the tower screen and the guest icon.

Edit: I did a recovery with Easeus and now i have the built-in elevated admin acoount. Windows want let me access pc settings, so how am I going to be able to create a new profile?

Yep, you'll need to create a new user account, then change it to be an administrator type.
This is normal to not be able to open PC settings and modern apps while signed in to the built-in elevated "Administrator" account. The modern UI and apps do not work in while signed in to an elevated account since explorer is running elevated as well.

Thanks Brink...I was getting desperate and thought about loading all your user account tutorials on my laptop and going through them all untill I got back to noemal.

I was thinking that maybe if I did a custom iinstall that windows would load my apps as well scince it will know is a Win 8 install, is this true?

If you did a repair install, you wouldn't lose your apps.

However, you should be fine by just creating a new administrator user account, and using it instead of the built-in Admin.
