DOn't know if this is the right category to post this in. I have been using a local account all along for Windows 8. But I noticed there are limitations as far as apps in store. My question is: If I switch to a MS account, what does Microsoft do with my information? For instance it seems that Google with Android watches every move and uses what I do for their own marketing purposes. How is it with Microsoft? Thanks for your help.

I have been using MS account in my windows 8 for quite a while, and i didn't notice any ad-related marketing whenever i search on google or anything, and i'm honestly not sure if they're using it for other purposes than what they intended.
what i do know is that MS accounts enable you to Synchronize PC settings across multiple PCs, a very useful option when switching between PCs, and allows you to download apps from the store*

*technically you can download apps with local account, you just need to sign in every time you want to download something

Thanks for your input, SengenSoma5. I won't be as reluctant to use a MS account.
