Solved How do I disable MSN log in to win 8?

Right now when I start Win8 it stays on the lock screen and requires entering your MSN to further continue to desktop. I don't use charms I use Start8 so basically I get straight to the desktop but after I enter pass. How can I disable that logging on MSN completely?


Also at some time in the future I will want to re-enable that option. But better - can I reenable it to require password but once I log in to automatically sign off MSN? I see another privacy issue by MS when they use bing and when you search or not something on bing it is like searching with google while logged into google - goodbye privacy..

Thanks, that worked but the tutorial should be saying 'Uncheck' that users must be using a password cause the option to retype a password and the local account appear when you uncheck, not when you check.

Also even though it signs you in without having to type the password on Log in screen, you still see you're logged on MSN, is there a way to not be logged in MSN at all?

Sure, you could switch your Microsoft account to a local account. However, if you do, you will not be able to open and use any apps (ex: SkyDrive) that use Microsoft services, or be able to install apps from the Store.

I don't use any of those. I simply want whenever I decide to enter a pass on Start screen and whenever I decide not to, like I already did using 'Users must enter a password' but in BOTH cases to not stay logged on MSN, ever. (I don't care what kind of account at is as long as I enter as Administrator). Can local account do that?

Yes. A local account is the same type of account in Vista and Windows 7. It doesn't use an email address like a Microsoft account does.

And I can still set to log in with a pass/not log in with a pass like when I do it via msn acc? Cause I will need to be able to do both

Yep, you sure could. In fact, with a local account, you have the option of not using a password if you like.
