Go to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures and delete all pictures that you want to remove from there.

Welcome to Windows Eight Forums, Genie.

Thanks for posting, but I have no AppData folder in my profile as you can see the snip below. Search of the C: drive and “This PC” return nothing. I think this is because I sign into my PC with a Live account and it is stored in my SkyDrive. Not sure, though.

AppData is system solder and it is hidden. You either go to folder options and check the option to view hidden folders or just open My Computer and paste the link (C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures) in the address bar. Be sure to replace Username with your user account name, like C:\Users\Genie\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures.

By deleting the images in this way, you will be able to get rid of all account pictures except the current one.

Replace 'username' with your own. All account pictures should show up in here. If nothing there, try -

    C:\users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\windows.immersivecontrolpanel_cw5n1h2txyewy\TempState

    Again,
replace 'username' with your own. Hope this helps.

    Very HELPFUL!! Thanks

I went to the My Computer area - where you can access all your different folders (documents, photos, downloads, recent places, etc..). I clicked on "This PC" then in the search box above top right I put in "Account Pictures." It took awhile to search, when it was complete I could clearly see the date on the file for the photos I wanted to remove. I clicked there - then the pictures opened up. Right click - then delete and all gone!
It really would have made so much more sense if we could have had the option right on the account screen to delete unwanted pics!

Wow. This thread brings me back to when I was using preview, and beginning to fall in love with 8.

If you think about it, most people do not sit and stare at accounts settings. The pictures are there just to make it easier to switch back to a previous photo quickly. Perhaps the thinking is, 'just switch to the photo you want, close out, and continue on...'
