As a newcomer to W8 and wandering around in despair trying to make sense of this gobbledegook can someone tell me why when I go through the process of entering NETPLWIZ and unticking the required box to remove the necessity of entering the password every time I boot up the thing still asks me at random for the password.HELP!!!

Hello Willden,

In addition to having Windows 8 set to automatically sign in to your account at startup,......
.....be sure that password protection for screen saver and wakeup are turned off in case one of them is asking for a password.

Hope this helps, :)
Shawn

You were dead on the nose,it was the wake up password that was causing the problem and thanks to your directions it is a problem no more.Obtained the NETPLWIZ information from an article in a Windows 8 magazine 50 quick tips but it forgot to mention the wakeup password.Thanks.
