    New user setup

Hi there. Running windows 8 home premium. I am setting up a additional user on my pc. So far it has installed all these programs and shortcuts for the other user. Now when I try to delete the shortcuts I do not want for the other user, it's asking for administrator's ok. What exactly is happening here? Does it just delete them for the other user or for the entire system? Don't know what to think. I'd like to personalize the setup. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello gallicbear,

What is the full path of where you are deleing the shortcuts from?

Most likely, it's from the hidden folder location below that is shared by all users.

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

Start Screen - Pin or Unpin App, Folder, or Drive in Windows 8

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Thanks for pointing that out, Brink. I'll check it out when I get a moment and will share back.

Yes, all these shortcuts were for ALL users. Whatever I deleted was gone for the main user, too. But, nothing tragic. Got going again. It didn't take too long. Thanks again for the help.
