Problem on the displaying of the new name of an account

    Hi

I created a local account in Windows 8 Enterprise 64-bit and then, via the User Accounts applet, I have renamed this account and I restarted the computer.

Now, I have logged into this account and I switched to my Microsoft account and I restarted the system.

So, I logged on to this account Microsoft and I switched it back to my local account and I restarted the computer again.

Now, when I log in to my local account, the old name of my local account is always displayed.

So, how do I have to do to display always the new name of my local account whenever I switch from my Microsoft account to my local account?

    Thanks

    Bye

    Hello Balubeto,

Just to make sure, are you referring to only the display name of your user account, or the "C:\Users\(user-name)" user profile folder name?

Instead of switching your user account back and forth to a local account or Microsoft account, you might consider having two separate user accounts for each on the PC. This way you could just sign in to whichever you like instead of switching the type of account for it.

    Hope this helps,

I refer to the name displayed in Windows 8 Start screen.

So, how do I prevent this with a single account?

    Thanks

The problem is that the local and Microsoft accounts are two separate accounts that you are switching to.

You may be able to use the same user name for both accounts so that when you switch to either one, the name will hopefully be the same.

I have noticed that the full name of the local account (set with the net users "<username>" /fullname:"<full name>" command) is deleted whenever I switch from a Microsoft account to the local associated with it. So, how do I have to prevent this?

    Thanks

The best way to prevent it would be to have them as two separate accounts on your PC instead of switching them.

About all you can do is enter the same user name when you switch to a local account that you have as your Microsoft account's display name.
