Can't log into new Windows 8 installation

Hi, I've installed windows 8 on a partition on the hard drive and everything seems to be alright. It's connected to the wireless network and it gets me to the login screen. However, no username or password will work. It all returns and invalid username/password error. I used my normal @hotmail address and then made a new windows live ID and tried that, but it didn't work, either. Can anyone offer any ideas on how I can log in successfully?

Hi Rob,

Have you tried resetting the keyboard language? If you are logging in in English, make sure it is set to the same English as your previous OS. I had the same problem, and discovered that the Windows 8 keyboard was set to British English and Windows 7 was Australian English and it would therefore only accept my password in Australian English. You would think all English the same, but apparently not!
